Birgitte Bruun

Birgitte works predominately in sterling silver with the addition of gold and gemstones. She is  influenced by Scandinavian design and aims to make pieces of jewellery which are simple, timeless in design and easy to wear.

She is currently exhibiting at Primavera with the Cambridge branch of the Association for Contemporary Jewellery (CACJ).  The exhibition consists of thirteen local jewellers and the show runs until 31st December 2010. Birgitte has also been a member of Cambridge Open Studios for the last three years and has also had her work displayed in the Riverslade Gallery, Saffron Walden.

For the Christmas 10 show she is enjoying creating different textures and contrasts in the silver using a variety of techniques including hammering, milling and oxidisation.

Birgitte's collection for 2010/11 will range from earrings, pendants, necklaces, bracelets and bangles and maybe an unusual gift or two such as a silver bubble blower!
